FINGERS CROSSED

We are anxiously awaiting a phone call to find out if our insurance will cover a new pump for Sky. The warranty on her pump is up and we are trying to get her an omni pod. After much research and OVER thinking my husband and I (mostly me) were having trouble deciding which pump to go for. We decided to ask Skyler. I explained to her the different options on the two pumps that we had it narrowed down to.  She chose the omni pod which was the way were leaning also. We then dicussed this with our doctor and she was very supportive of our decision to change to omni pod.
Now, we wait with our fingers crossed.

Good luck and enjoy your new journey! Keep us posted on how it's going....there are many folks out there who would appreciate your honest comparison since you will have experience with both a pump with tubing and tubingless!

I'm especially interested in hearing your real life experiences when it comes to static electricity, pod errors, adhesive, "wobbling", keeping track of the PDM....personally, I'd love an insiders comparison from someone who knows both.

Our warranty is up in January and, while I'm not ready to give up the IOB feature (or figure out a way to work around it) just yet, I DO want to consider all options and weigh the pros and cons!!!

Congrats on the decision and MEGA prayers for insurance approval SUPER STAT!!!!

~praying for quick insurance approval!!~

How great that you thought to ask Sky what she wanted! I can't wait to hear how you guys like it when it you get it (and you will - cuz the insurance WILL come through!)

Lots of luck coming your way!! =)

HOW DID I not get this update!!! The omnipod sounds cool. We are on the Animas Ping for now. I would consider changing once Joe was older.

Let me know on the 1/2 marathon Yvette!

I just discovered your blog. I have a seven-year-old son, who was diagnosed with type 1 in 2007 at the age of 4. He's still on shots, and we've been researching pumps, trying to figure out which one would work best for us. Good luck with your insurance company! Keep us posted on how things go!
